National Geographic Kids Weird but True! USA: 300 Fascinating Facts about the Fifty States, 2019

This week I have several National Geographic Kids selections that I believe parents ought to check out. They are perfect for the summer months. Bring them along on road trips or keep them on hand when you need ideas for activities.  They are sure-fire boredom busters.

Here is a sample of what to expect with this volume:

  1. Maine produces 90% of the country’s ________.
  2. ________ is the only president to have patented an invention?
  3. _____ is Maryland’s official state sport
  4. Russian salad dressing was invented in _____.
  5. The only apple native to the United States is the _____ apple.
  6. What is the official state snack of Utah?

This book is brimming with quirky facts on all kinds of subjects.  The photos and graphics are eye-catching.

And if you really must know the answers, I will give spoilers today!

  1. Toothpicks (174)
  2. Abraham Lincoln (176)
  3. Jousting (193)
  4. New Hampshire (90)
  5. Crab (69)
  6. Jell-O (62)

*Note: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
